The Singular is strategically located just outside of Puerto Natales in the Chilean town of Puerto Boris and is the starting point for many excursions from sailing through the Patagonian fjords to exploring some of the worlds most remote places including the renowned Torres Del Paine National Park.

The Singular’s history dates back to 1915 when the Frigoriflco Bories company opened a modern cold storage plant for processing and export lamb to Europe. The sheep were herded long distances throughout the Patagonia region by the Gaucho’s of Argentina and the Huaso’s of Chile. (Cowboys) The plant operated from 1915 to 1971 generating employment and contributing to the early development of the region. After it closed the complex went through a long period of neglect, in 1996 the plant was recovered and declared a national historic monument.

The owners of the Singular whose ancestors were among the pioneers who worked at the plant wanted to restore the building and transform it into the finest and most unique luxury hotel in Patagonia. Special care was taken to ensure that repairs and replacements were performed with the same materials as the existing structures. In the end, it took ten years to turn a dream into a reality.

The hotel has 57 spacious oceanfront rooms, a spa overlooking the Patagonian fjords, a private museum, and all the amenities that visitors need to live the experience of Patagonia
