Buenos Aires Travel Itinerary:

Day 1: Buenos Aires

Meeting upon arrival in Buenos Aires, a city of contrasts, unique style and diverse heritage that is reflected on every corner.  This cosmopolitan city has glamour and elegance of its European roots that are interwoven with the essence of Latin America.  Buenos Aires has so much culture to offer any traveler, amazing nightlife, tango in the streets, museums and galleries, historical monuments, gourmet food and world class wine just to name a few.  Transfer to hotel, remainder of day at leisure.   (If you arrive early optional tours are available)  Tonight enjoy one of Buenos Aires’ best tango experiences the exclusive tango show at Rojo Tango.  The evening begins with a three-course dinner including top wines and champagnes from the very best wineries in Argentina. After dinner, sit back and enjoy an intimate tango show at The Cabaret Theater.  Return to hotel.  (D)

Day 2: Buenos Aires

Today enjoy a private guided tour of Buenos Aires.    Explore the cities characteristics, history, architecture and its people and culture. Visits include the historical May Square (Plaza de Mayo) surrounded by the Government House (Pink House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the ancient City Hall.  Continue to Congress Square, the National Parliament and the most emblematic symbol of Buenos Aires; the Obelisk and 9 of July Boulevard one of the widest avenues in the world. Next a visit to Teatro Colon, located in the heart of Buenos Aires and one of the most important opera houses in the world because of its acoustic and architectural.  (B)

Day 3: Buenos Aires

Today visit San Isidro, Buenos Aires’ most exclusive residential neighborhood and Tigre, the gateway to the Paraná River Delta.  Drive through the beautiful tree lined streets and impressive mansions and historical district before visiting Tigre, board a boat and sail through the canals of the delta.  The Parana River Delta is one of the largest in the world and has more than 1000 islands that are home to an abundance of wildlife.  Cruise past impressive river front homes and the private yacht club before returning to the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires.  (BL)

Day 4: Buenos Aires/El Calafate

Transfer to airport, meeting upon arrival in El Calafate, transfer to hotel.   El Calafate is located on the shores of Largo Argentino and the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park. The park is part of the Patagonia Ice field with 48 different glaciers forming rivers of ice between Chile and Argentina.  The ice field is the second largest sheet of ice in the world behind Antarctica and its main attraction is Perito Moreno Glacier.  Known world wide for it’s beauty and the spectacular ice falls; every few years an ice bridge is formed at the base of the glacier that is truly a sight when it finally gives way and crashes into the lake. Day 5: El Calafate

Today it’s time for some adventure, your going to strap on some crampons and explore Perito Moreno Glacier as you walk around on it, no doubt the best way to experience it.  Hop on a boat and cross the Rico Branch till you arrive at the base of the glacier, after a brief safety talk and equipment fitting its time to get on the ice.  Your guide will explain all there is to know about glaciers, you will discover deep blue lagoons, cross over small rivers, ice caves and if the skies are clear the summit of the glacier.  (BL)

Day 6: El Calafate

Today you will board a boat and sail among ice bergs on Largo Argentino to the base of Upsala Glacier one of the largest in Los Glaciares National Park.  Enjoy the breath taken view of the lake and the mountains before arriving at Estancia Cristina.  Learn about the history, culture and lifestyles that the areas early pioneers had endure as the area was discovered.  After lunch enjoy a 4×4 excursion to a museum and the glacier before returning to El Calafate.  (BL)

Day 7: El Calafate/Bariloche

Transfer to airport, meeting upon arrival in Bariloche, transfer to hotel.  Bariloche is one of the more scenic areas of Argentina and is also know as the Lake District.  Located on the shores of Lake Nahuel  Huapi  the area is surrounded by snow capped mountains, dense forests and clear waters.  Bariloche is a year round destination that supports an abundance of out door activities such as hiking, horseback ridding, fishing, rafting and skiing.  Bariloche is often called the Switzerland of South America and the town’s architecture is reminiscent of it.  (B)

Day 8: Bariloche

Today discover the picturesque country side of Bariloche, visit panoramic point and Lopez Bay before taking the chairlift to the top of Campanario Mountain also know as the height of amazement for the outstanding views of the many lakes and the Andes range.  Continue to the postcard village of Llao Llao before returning to town. (B)

Day 9: Bariloche

Today enjoy a day on Lake Nahuel Huapi with a visit to Victoria Island and The Arrayanes Woods.  A thick forest of pure Arrayanes trees that reach an average of 60 feet and many are more than 300 years old.  Walk along a boardwalk for easy access through the heart of the forest before we make our way to Victoria Island.  Explore the many paths that offer great views of the lake and the mountains before make our way back to Bariloche. Day 10: Bariloche/Buenos Aires

At the appropriate time transfer to airport.  Meeting upon arrival in Buenos Aires, transfer from the domestic airport to the international airport.  (B)
