Dustin Stiffler feels fortunate to have traveled quite a bit for being so young. He grew up in Upstate New York, and his parents instilled in him a passion for travel and positively engaging with other people and cultures. As a student at Siena College, he took his junior year to study abroad. He studied in Central America and then in Argentina, where he was able to improve his Spanish skills which now allow him to better connect with host cultures. He has traveled parts of Mexico and Uruguay, as well as parts of Italy and France.
Dustin has long had an interest in the outdoors–he ski raced while in grade school and later pursued interests in cycling and running. He often tries to pair his travel experiences with outdoor experiences and has been able to hike two volcanoes in Central America, and did a 4-day trekking trip in the Northern Patagonia region of Argentina.
His wanderlust and free spirit has gotten the better of him, and Dustin now pursues his passion for travel and writing as a freelance travel/adventure writer and social media coordinator. In his freetime, Dustin enjoys running, cycling, skiing, photography, reading, and playing music.
For Dustin, the Escape Artist serves as a tool, a resource, and as inspiration for others to experience this vast world that we live in. With a holistic approach to travel, The Escape Artist can better connect its travelers to unique places and forge deep relationships with its host cultures and communities. Dustin agrees with The Escape Artist that, “being a traveler is more rewarding than being a tourist” and is excited to encourage others to see new and beautiful places from a traveler’s point of view.
